On 24th January 2016, the Protestant Council Rwanda held an Ecumenical and evangelical crusade at Kayonza in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. This was oraganised in collaboration with CPR decentralized committees and CPR Kayonza Counceling centre.
The crusade brought together hundreds of Christians and choirs from six different denominations members of CPR. Those are Free Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church, Anglican Church, Association of Baptist Church, Lutheran Church, and Pentecostal Church. Many other people from the surrounding communities attended the crusade. The theme of the day was: “That all may be one”, from John 17:21. Rev. Munyamasoko Gato Corneil, the Vice- President of CPR and the Legal Representative of the Association of Baptist Churches in Rwanda (AEBR), preached the word of God. In his message, he demonstrated how important is the unity of Church to expand the Kingdom of God on earth. He referred to the New Testament Churches such as the church in Ephesus and Philippi that were strong during the time of the Apostle Paul. Their unity and love have to serve as lessons to our churches today.
CPR is heartily engaged to reinforce evangelism as one of its pillars. Therefore, more crusades are yet to be organised in other areas of the country.
